Skoda Auto Supports The Ladies TDF For The Fourth Year
While the whole country gripped bye “Lioness” fever following on from their stunning victory over Spain in the Euros final, it seems that ladies sport is at last, and quite rightly higher on the national agenda than it has ever been before.
There is one ladies event that often skips people’s minds and that is the ladies Tour de France which hardly got any news just a few years ago but he is now almost as high profile as the men’s race and our cherished brand has supported this event now for the last four years.
It’s a breath-taking spectacle taking place from the 26th of July to 3rd August and hosts a total of 154 riders in 22 teams. They will set off on a route that is longer and more demanding than ever covering 1,165 kilometres across nine stages, traversing France from Brittany in the west to the Alps in the east.
This year’s course also includes sections through the Massif Central and the Savoie Alps, which boasts some of the highest peaks in Europe stretching from Mont blanc to the Matterhorn and riders tackle a toe curling total ascent of 17,240 metres.
As part of their support Škoda Auto will provide the organisers with a fleet of 32 fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with Race Director Marion Rousse overseeing the event from her ‘Red Car’, a new all-electric Enyaq.
