The New Elroq vRS
It’s been more than 25 years since the Skoda Octavia vRS appeared on our streets, and as well as boosting the image of the once scorned Skoda brand it is now considered one of the best all-rounders on the road today.
Ticking all the boxes for the “boy racer turned family man” this spacious family saloon car with a sporty heritage has been the consistent choice for mature adults who still like the feel of power under the right foot when they need it.
The vRS marque has graced several Skoda models since but the recent allocation of this legendary hallmark to the new EV range has been a game changer and none more so than the forthcoming Elroq.
Škoda Auto is launching the vRS range-topper six months after the world premiere of the new Elroq, which is already breaking records in the popular electric compact SUV segment. The latest member of the vRS family has two motors generating a total system output of 340 PS (250 kW) and is equipped with all-wheel drive. The Elroq vRS also comes with an electric range of more than 340 miles and is also the fastest accelerating car in Škoda’s current model portfolio, sprinting from 0 to 62 mph in an incredible 5.4 seconds.
Like all Elroq models, the vRS variant is characterised by the new high-gloss black Tech-Deck Face accommodating multiple sensors, including radar. The illuminated Tech-Deck Face composed of vertical “eyelashes” comes as standard, as do the LED Matrix beam headlights.
Every feature of this new car is a winner from the sleek design to the sumptuous high-tech interior and is set to be one of the best sellers in the UK market over the forthcoming years
With “Powerpass” public charging plans, customers will easily find the closest of more than 800,000 charging points across Europe so the much maligned “range anxiety” will be a thing of the past for this new “superEV”
