SKODA Personal Leasing FAQs – Your Questions Answered
Thinking about leasing a new SKODA? Whether you're considering your first personal lease or replacing your existing car, we've answered some of the questions customers most frequently ask us at Lightcliffe SKODA in Warrington.

1. What is SKODA Personal Contract Hire (PCH)?
Personal Contract Hire is a straightforward way to drive a brand-new SKODA for an agreed monthly rental, without having to buy the car.
You choose your preferred model, contract length, annual mileage and initial rental. At the end of your agreement, you return the vehicle, subject to its condition, mileage and your contract terms.
One of the main attractions of leasing is that you don't have to worry about selling or part-exchanging your car at the end of the agreement, or what its future resale value might be.
2. What's included in a SKODA personal lease?
One of the biggest advantages of leasing a brand-new SKODA is that you benefit from a full manufacturer's warranty from day one, giving you additional peace of mind compared with buying an older used vehicle. Warranty cover is subject to the manufacturer's terms and limits.
Your lease also includes road tax throughout your agreement and 12 months of SKODA roadside assistance. You can choose to include a servicing and maintenance package for an additional monthly rental.
And unlike many leasing brokers, we don't charge a separate arrangement or administration fee at Lightcliffe SKODA.
3. How much initial rental do I need to pay?
You can usually choose an initial rental equivalent to 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly rentals, or alternatively pay an agreed lump sum.
The higher your initial rental, the lower your subsequent monthly payments. On the SKODA Finance quotations we provide, a higher initial rental also reduces the total amount payable over the agreement.
Your initial rental is normally collected around 10–14 days after your new car has been delivered, so there's nothing to pay when placing your order.
4. How long can I lease a SKODA for?
SKODA Personal Contract Hire agreements are available from 12 to 48 months across the model range.
We'll happily compare different contract lengths to help you find an option that suits your budget and how often you'd like to change your car.
5. Can I choose my annual mileage?
Yes. You choose your annual mileage allowance before your agreement begins, starting at 5,000 miles per year, with options available up to 40,000 miles annually.
If you exceed your agreed mileage allowance, an excess mileage charge will apply.
If your circumstances change, SKODA Finance may allow you to amend your mileage once your agreement has been active for at least six months, provided at least six months remain. An approved mileage change will affect your monthly rental.
6. Do I need to pay anything when ordering my new SKODA?
There's nothing to pay until you've taken delivery of your new vehicle.
Once your finance application has been approved and your vehicle is ready, we'll arrange the agreement documents and delivery. Your initial rental is normally collected approximately 10–14 days after delivery, with your regular monthly payments beginning around 30 days later.
Please bear in mind that cancellation charges may apply if you cancel your vehicle order once it has been placed with the factory.
7. Can I choose the colour and specification of my new SKODA?
Absolutely! If you're ordering a factory-built vehicle, you can choose from the available colours, trim levels and optional equipment.
Factory order lead times vary depending on the model and production availability. We'll explain the estimated delivery time before you order and keep you updated as your vehicle progresses through production.
8. What happens at the end of my SKODA lease?
At the end of your agreement, your vehicle is returned to SKODA Finance through its appointed collection agent.
The vehicle will be assessed against the applicable fair wear and tear guidelines. Normal wear and tear is expected, but damage outside those guidelines or excess mileage may result in additional charges.
If you're replacing your existing SKODA with another lease vehicle, we can help coordinate the arrival of your new car with the return of your current one.
9. Can I extend my existing SKODA lease?
Yes, extensions are often possible, subject to SKODA Finance approval. Depending on your agreement, you may be able to extend your lease for up to 12 months. Shorter extensions may also be available, which can be particularly helpful if you're waiting for a new vehicle to arrive.
Please bear in mind that SKODA Finance only permits one extension per agreement, so if you've already extended your lease, you won't be able to extend it again.

10. Can I end my SKODA lease early?
Early termination is possible in many circumstances, although there will usually be a charge based on the remaining rentals and the terms of your agreement.
We recommend requesting a personalised early termination quotation from SKODA Finance before making any decisions.
11. Who is responsible for servicing, maintenance and tyres?
Unless you've chosen a maintenance package covering these items, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintenance and replacement tyres during your agreement.
Your SKODA must be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended service schedule. Check your individual lease and maintenance terms for any approved-repairer requirements; warranty repairs should be arranged through an authorised SKODA repairer.
Every new SKODA also comes with a manufacturer's warranty, subject to its terms and conditions.
12. Can I lease an electric SKODA?
Absolutely! We offer Personal Contract Hire on electric SKODA models including the Epiq, Elroq, Enyaq and Peaq.
Electric vehicles can offer significant running-cost savings, particularly if you can charge at home using a suitable electricity tariff. If you're considering making the switch to electric, we can also put you in touch with a home-charging provider if required.
13. What's the difference between PCH and PCP, and which is cheaper?
Personal Contract Hire (PCH) is generally one of the most cost-effective ways to drive a brand-new SKODA, particularly if you're looking for a competitive monthly payment.
When comparing like-for-like vehicles, PCH monthly rentals are often significantly lower than Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) payments, thanks to the competitive finance offers available through SKODA Finance. It's important to compare the initial payment and total cost as well as the monthly figure.
PCH also includes road tax throughout your agreement, whereas with PCP you're normally responsible for road tax yourself.
The main difference is flexibility. With PCP, you have the option to purchase the vehicle at the end of your agreement by paying the optional final payment. PCH is purely a rental agreement, so there's no contractual option to buy the vehicle.
PCH can also be more restrictive if you need to change or end your agreement early. If your priority is driving a brand-new SKODA for a competitive monthly payment, PCH is certainly worth considering. If you want the option to own the vehicle, PCP may be more suitable.
14. Do I need to live near Warrington to lease through Lightcliffe SKODA?
Not at all! Although we're based in Warrington, Cheshire, we regularly help customers from across the UK.
You don't need to visit the dealership to arrange your lease, as we can handle the quotation, finance application and ordering process remotely.
We offer free driven delivery to many UK locations. Some remote destinations may incur an additional charge, and we can also arrange transported delivery at an additional cost. We'll confirm any applicable delivery charges before you proceed.
15. How do I apply for a SKODA personal lease?
It's easy! Simply choose your preferred SKODA model and get in touch with our leasing department for a personalised quotation.
We'll discuss your preferred contract length, annual mileage, initial rental and vehicle specification, then prepare a quotation to suit your requirements.

16. Can I lease a used SKODA instead of a brand-new one?
Surprisingly, a brand-new SKODA will usually work out cheaper on a monthly basis than a comparable used vehicle.
That's because new-car leasing benefits from competitive manufacturer-supported finance offers, substantial discounts and stronger forecast residual values, all of which can help reduce the monthly rental.
With a brand-new SKODA, you'll also benefit from a full manufacturer's warranty, rather than the remaining warranty available on a used vehicle.

17. Are there special leasing offers for existing SKODA Finance leasing customers?
Yes! If you're an existing SKODA Finance Personal Contract Hire (PCH) or Business Contract Hire (BCH) customer looking to replace your current vehicle with another new SKODA, you may qualify for our exclusive loyalty campaign pricing.
These offers can provide additional savings compared with standard Personal Contract Hire rates. Loyalty campaign pricing is for eligible existing SKODA Finance Contract Hire customers, not customers with Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) or Hire Purchase (HP) agreements.
You don't need to wait until your existing lease has finished. We recommend exploring your replacement options up to 12 months before your current agreement ends, particularly if your preferred model needs to be factory ordered.
