Double Win for Skoda at the What Car? Electric Car Awards
It’s always nice when a car you already know and love gets a little recognition from the experts – and this week there are two more reasons for the team here at Lightcliffe Škoda Warrington to celebrate.
Škoda has picked up a pair of honours at the 2026 What Car? Electric Car Awards, with both the Superb Estate iV and the all-electric Enyaq coming away as winners.
The Superb Estate iV was crowned Best Hybrid Estate, and it isn’t difficult to understand why. The Superb has always been one of those cars that manages to make an enormous amount of space feel remarkably easy to live with. Add plug-in hybrid technology to the mix and you have a family estate that can offer electric driving for everyday journeys while retaining the flexibility many drivers still want for longer trips.
What Car? particularly praised the Superb for its passenger and luggage space, comfortable ride and the fact that, despite its generous dimensions, it doesn’t feel overly large from behind the wheel.
Perhaps the result that pleased us most, however, was another win for the Enyaq which was named Best Used Electric Family SUV for the second year running – and What Car? went considerably further than that, describing the Enyaq as not only the best used electric family SUV you can buy, but its current Used Car of the Year.
That’s quite an accolade!
Since arriving in the UK in 2021, the Enyaq has proved that moving to electric doesn’t mean sacrificing the things families actually need from a car. There’s plenty of room, excellent practicality and the kind of comfortable everyday driving experience that has helped more than 300,000 Enyaqs find homes around the world.
And the timing of these latest awards couldn’t be better.
Škoda’s electric family is growing rapidly. The Enyaq and Elroq are being joined by the new, all-electric Epiq and Peaq, giving customers an increasingly broad choice of electric models.
If you’re curious about making the switch to electric – or simply want to discover why the Enyaq continues to collect so many awards – pop into Lightcliffe Škoda Warrington and have a chat with the team.
Sometimes the easiest way to understand why a car keeps winning awards is simply to get behind the wheel.
