Low Costs, High Praise: Enyaq Wins Running Costs Award

The Škoda Enyaq has added to its remarkable tally of industry accolades by taking the Best Car for Running Costs award at the annual Auto Trader Drivers’ Choice Awards. The award, which was voted for by owners, highlights the Enyaq’s exceptional efficiency, long driving range and value for money – qualities that Škoda buyers have come to expect.

Unlike other industry awards where a panel of industry experts and road testers choose the winners, the Autotrader Drivers’ Choice Awards are decided by car owners. For the 2026 awards, more than 160,000 UK car owners completed an online survey sharing exactly what they think of their car, with their thoughts and opinions (obtained from real-world experience) determining the winners of 20 award categories. Owners who have bought, driven and lived with their cars were asked to rate them according to a range of lifestyle factors.

As part of the survey, owners were invited to rate their cars across 16 different criteria, from reliability and performance to appearance and running costs. They were also asked about their overall satisfaction with their car and how likely they would be to recommend it to others. Commenting on the Enyaq’s win, Rory Reid, Autotrader’s YouTube Director, said: “The Škoda Enyaq stands out because it delivers exactly what many drivers are looking for right now: a practical, affordable electric car that’s easy to live with day-to-day. Owners consistently praise its low running costs, especially when charging at home, alongside its strong range and overall quality. It’s a great example of how EVs can offer genuine value without compromise.”

The key to the Enyaq’s appeal is its impressive efficiency and long driving range, allowing drivers to travel further without having to recharge. Available with the 60, 85, 85x and vRS battery options, the Enyaq offers a WLTP combined driving range of up to 373 miles on a full charge. To help drive down costs for buyers, selected models in the Enyaq range qualify for the Government’s Electric Car Grant.

Here at Lightcliffe Škoda Warrington, we've seen growing interest in the Enyaq from customers across Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester who are looking to reduce their motoring costs without compromising on comfort, practicality or performance. Many of our customers are pleasantly surprised by how easy electric vehicle ownership can be, particularly when charging at home and taking advantage of the Enyaq's impressive range.

Whether you're commuting to work, taking the family away for the weekend or exploring destinations such as North Wales, the Lake District or the Peak District, the Enyaq combines the practicality and space that Škoda is renowned for with the benefits of modern electric motoring.

If you're considering making the switch to electric, why not visit our showroom and speak to one of the team? We'll be happy to answer any questions, explain the available models and charging options, and arrange a test drive so you can experience for yourself why the award-winning Enyaq continues to impress owners across the UK.

Clare James Automotive Limited trading Lightcliffe Skoda Warrington is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Clare James Automotive Limited trading Lightcliffe Skoda Warrington to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.
We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.
Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.
Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
