Škoda Celebrates 23 Years at the Heart of the Tour de France

Škoda is once again taking centre stage at the world's most famous cycling race as the brand celebrates an incredible 23rd consecutive year as the official main partner of the Tour de France.

The 2026 race got underway on 4 July with the Grand Départ in Barcelona, before finishing on the iconic Champs-Élysées in Paris after more than 3,300 kilometres of racing on 26th July. Over 184 riders representing 23 teams will tackle one of the toughest sporting events in the world, climbing an astonishing 54,450 metres along the way.

This year's Tour is particularly exciting for Škoda, as it provides the perfect stage to introduce two important additions to the brand's growing electric vehicle family.

Making their public debut are the all-new Škoda Epiq and the new flagship Škoda Peaq. The compact all-electric Epiq expands Škoda's electric line-up into the entry-level SUV market, while the spacious seven-seat Peaq becomes the brand's new flagship model.

The Peaq will also take on one of the Tour's most important roles, serving as Race Director Christian Prudhomme's famous "Red Car" during 12 stages of the race. Acting as a fully connected mobile command centre, the vehicle travels at the very front of the peloton, helping to oversee one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.

Away from the race itself, Škoda will once again provide the organisers with a fleet of up to 225 support vehicles, demonstrating the reliability and versatility of the brand across the demanding three-week event.

The company also continues its long-standing sponsorship of the prestigious Green Jersey, awarded to the leader of the points classification, while this year's winner's trophies feature a striking new design inspired by Škoda's modern design language.

Škoda's commitment to cycling extends well beyond the Tour de France. The brand also proudly supports the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, as well as a number of mountain bike and gravel cycling events throughout the year, reflecting the company's historic links with cycling that date back to its very beginnings in 1895.

Here at Lightcliffe Škoda, we're always proud to see the brand represented on the world stage. Whether you're a cycling enthusiast or simply interested in the latest electric vehicle technology, this year's Tour promises to showcase the exciting future of Škoda.

Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more updates on the all-new Škoda Epiq and Škoda Peaq as they continue their journey towards the showroom.

Clare James Automotive Limited trading Lightcliffe Skoda Warrington is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Clare James Automotive Limited trading Lightcliffe Skoda Warrington to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.
We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.
Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.
Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
