Be Safe This Winter

After a very mild December the recent weather in the UK has been a shock to most people with many roads and transport networks grinding to a halt in the freeze.

Has any responsible dealership we are constantly monitoring the weather and making sure that all of our customers know that we are here for them in case of any problems with the car during the winter months.

As a result of this service manager Sharzley has decided to offer a winter health check over the coming month for any customers who need to get the car checked. And in true Lightcliffe fashion to demonstrate how much he values our customers this will be offered free of charge.

The check will cover everything essential to the car running smoothly in the winter months  and includes:

Oil – This is to ensure it is at the correct level. Low oil levels can cause breakdowns and lead to catastrophic engine damage if left unresolved.

Rubber – Tyres will be checked for general wear and tear, splits, or bulges, and crucially tread depth along with pressure. Wiper blades will also be checked as these won’t last forever and need replacing from time to time due to splits and cracks.

Coolant – Again very important especially in the winter months so we will check your car’s coolant level to ensure you don’t overheat or even freeze.

Electrics - There are plenty of electrics in your car – from headlights and fog lights to your battery – and they all need to be checked regularly to keep you safe.

Screen wash – we will check your screen wash level in the tank under the bonnet, topping up if necessary, with a quality screen wash. Important specially in winter for cleaning dirty windscreens and ensuring that your visibility is always clear. (Note – screen wash can be dangerous for your furry friends so make sure that any spare screen wash is put away safely)

Engine air filter - A faulty or clogged-up air filter could reduce your fuel efficiency and lead to reduced engine power.

Spark plugs - Spark plugs are integral to the running of your engine and one or more faulty plugs will cause an engine and even break down.

Brakes – The importance of brakes goes without saying and as well as checking the brakes are fully functional and intact, we will also check brake fluid level and top up where required.

Heater / Air conditioning – whether or not your car has air-conditioning a fully functioning heater is essential for the winter months.

If any customers would like to take us up on this offer, please call now on (01925) 633583 and speak to one of our service advisors or access or 24/7 visit to chat on our website.

Wishing you all a safe winter!

Clare James Automotive Limited trading Lightcliffe Skoda Warrington is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Clare James Automotive Limited trading Lightcliffe Skoda Warrington to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.
We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.
Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.
Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
