New Elroq vRS Wins Times Award
Anyone who takes time out to test drive an electric Skoda can’t fail to be impressed by the sheer beauty of the experience. Whether it’s the Enyaq or the Elroq the comfort level and performance for both cars puts them very firmly in the luxury bracket and the technology spec even on a standard can is verging on space age.
The ENYAQ VRS made a great impression when it was released but the new Elroq vRS marks an even more significant milestone in Škoda’s electrification journey, becoming the brand’s second all-electric vRS model. With a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing a combined output of 340 PS the car is propelled from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 111 mph. The 79 kWh net battery provides a WLTP range of up to 339 miles, ensuring both performance and endurance.
It was no surprise therefore when this new car was named the Times Driving Car Of The Year at the recent awards ceremony with the judging panel praising the Elroq vRS’s driving dynamics and exceptional value for money. Commenting on the Elroq’s victory, Will Dron, Digital Driving Editor at The Times and Sunday Times, said: “The Elroq vRS adds a lot more sizzle, with its extra motor on the front axle, power boosted to 335 bhp, and adaptive damping with 15 levels of adjustment. It's an electric car in the true tradition of a hot hatch, mixing everyday usability with rally-bred thrills, all at an affordable price. We absolutely loved it, and are delighted to name it The Times Driving Car of the Year."
With the new compact Epiq due to launch in 2026 all the team at Lightcliffe are looking forward to electrifying times ahead!
