It's just over a year since the first lockdown was announced and March 2020 was a strange month indeed.
With unusually balmy weather for that time of year and hardly any traffic on the roads it almost had a holiday feel to it. Then bit by bit the reality of what we were facing became apparent and by May 2020 most people realised that this country was facing a serious crisis the like of which hadn't been seen since the Second World War.
In spite of all the negativity over the last year there have been some amazing goodwill stories; the struggling hospitality industry finding time to help people in need, war veterans walking miles to support the NHS, and so many ordinary people doing extraordinary things across the communities to help those in need.
The turning point for the country has been the vaccine which as well as bringing some semblance of security to millions of our citizens has also provided a platform for us all to start rebuilding our lives and businesses.
As a retail business we have certainly had to make changes to adapt along with the rest of the industry and like everyone else we are very much looking forward to things getting back to normal.
So one thing you can be certain of is the warmest welcome ever from all our staff here as we open the doors again to our customers on the 12th of April.
